Darrell, Allen and I were at MJC back in the day--yo--together doing computer graphics classes. He is having an art show out in Delhi at a local coffee shop. If you want to get out of the big city lights of modesto for an evening of music, art and coffee give this a try...

Hi All,

I've got a solo show happening in April down at CSU Stanislaus. You're all invited to the reception/opening on the evening of the 7th of April. I'll post a time as soon as I find out. The show is in the student union and I'm showing 20 or so large landscape photos. I hope that we'll all go out after that as well.

i've seen some interesting things online lately concerning the nature of Art, what is art, what isn't--is photography art? is photoshop a tool for making art? etc...

and i'll say this...the debate has been going for a LONG time.

An old and interesting question in 1954. The article link opens a PDF with scans from the original magazine, and this cool article about Photographer Don Briggs and his far out crazy art made from photos. A lot of it looks like Photoshop work--but done with chemicals instead of clicking. [i'll stick with clicking]. Give it a read and tell me what you think.

Don't despair... Bancroft Syndicate is still going and going strong.. there are a ton of things going on and it's been hard for me to set up an art-night.. so be nimble and watch out because they me come out of nowhere!!!! Random day and Random times.

Other News...

I know of Two shows coming soon and there are calls for artwork, one at Picasos and the other at MoMo (i think).

If your involved or have an image of the other flyer online then send it to me and I'll post it on the blog.

...the rules for the art night space

so I'm cleaning the shop.. and I'm coming up with some rules for art night.. mostly just so that the place doesn't decay while it's sitting on those days.. weeks or whatever between art nights

ok.. these arn't ment to be harsh... just understand they are based upon what I'm dealing with now.

1. Rule one... No leaving of art that will Decay, Rot, Mold or be discusting enough that I need to bleach the spot where it once laid. ( I love art but you can take that kind home).

2. Bring your own brushes... I'm tired of throwing away my brushes because they are runined

Request:

1. Anyone want to take the recycling? The trash we have is belt sorted so it will get separated out but I would rather someone make a buck or two if they already do it.
